About the European Congress of Young Farmers
This Congress was created in 2012 under the initiative of MEP Nuno Melo and the Portuguese Farmers Confederation (CAP). Thereafter MEP Esther Herranz García (Spain), the EPP Group and ASAJA endorsed this initiative aiming to promote European agriculture, rural development, while valuing the fundamental role played by young farmers in this domain.

The 11th edition of the Congress will take place at the European Parliament on 19 November 2025 and is co-organized by MEPs Paulo do Nascimento Cabral (Portugal), Jessika van Leeuwen (Netherlands), Carmen Crespo Díaz (Spain) and Herbert Dorfmann (Italy).
Over 300 participants from across Europe, among which are young farmers, policy-makers and agricultural stakeholders, join the Congress to engage in an open discussion on the challenges and opportunities faced by young farmers.
